Is it the broken heart or what remains...

For black individuals,

Pain is in the stereotypes that lead to police brutality

Pain is the seeing the divide of our people and knowing we got to get it together

Pain is being treated unfairly and asked to never react

Pain is being attacked by your oppressor yet charged for standing up

Pain is in our hearts, pain is in our soul

Pain is the glue that keeps us whole

Let us use this pain to make a change

Let this pain bring us closer together

Let this pain teach us, feed us, and heal us

Stop waiting for the pain doctor

You are your pain doctor

Heal yourself and spread the healing

Its up to us to repair what they broke

But never let them take us for a joke

Repair, renew, revive our shattered past

Because I promise you this pain will never last

But we have to heal ourselves first

Then we accept one another

Build each other up and reclaim our destiny
