What I do not see, I do not know
African philosophy has been a no-show
Where did it come from? Where did it go?
It’s been hidden from history long ago
You'd have thought that it was Greek
Has philosophy been playing hide and seek?
We believe that it is from the west
Because that’s where philosophy was said to nests
Egyptian text on a temple wall
Someone found it and made the call
Socrates coined the phrase “man know thyself”
But he kept that info from everybody else / but he kept that info high on a shelf
Plato’s Theory of Ideas can be read
From the Egyptian Book of the Dead
To tell you the truth, and this I dread
This is not what he actually said
From the readings of Herodotus,
Laertius, and Pythagoras,
One philosopher is George James
And he is one of many names
Amo Anton was from Ghana
Which is far from Montana
His performance was greatly praised
It left faculty amazed for days
He was a master of philosophy
And as such was very coy
He moved to Wittenberg long ago
While Kant was still a boy
The west is known for having pride
They kept philosophy by their side
But what they truly could not hide
Was that philosophy is found world-wide
Every country has their own perspective
And as such they have incentive
Just because they’re so inventive
They think it’s their job to be corrective
Because we are the worlds clients
We must be logical to create reliance
And as such, philosophy and science
Must come together to form an alliance
In society we are often deceived
From where philosophy was actually conceived
It’s based on surroundings and what we perceive
It’s all up to you and what you believe
Philosophy is the love of wisdom
So shouldn’t we learn where exactly it came from?
If you study it then you will see
There is no definition of philosoph
